There's a pond we like to visit every once in a while because it has hoards of hungry ducks and nasty carp and even some swans and pelicans. We generally take a loaf of bread and the kids think it's the best thing ever.
It was all we could do to keep Autumn from climbing into the yucky water with the hundreds of swarming fish.
As we were leaving, we saw a man and his sons fishing. They would haul in the biggest carp I've ever seen and then release them back into the water. Calvin was so fascinated by it all that the man asked if we wanted to join them. He was so nice and patient with both of the kids.
He even taught Autumn.
Poor fishy. Don't worry, he wasn't in there long.
Calvin was beyond proud of himself when he finally reeled one in.
We fed lots of ducks and fish, and then they let us catch them and toss them back in. It was a win-win for everyone.
